Florence Nightingale (2008)

Florence Nightingale Florence Nightingale - a full costume drama that tells the untold story of one of Britain’s greatest heroines, based on her own words. Shown on BBC One on the 1st of June 2008, Florence Nightingale received 4.7 million viewers and a 22.9% audience share. Starring Laura Fraser, this film brings to life the story of Florence Nightingale’s spiritual and emotional breakdown after the Crimean War: a moment of crisis, doubt and failure that ultimately inspired her revolutionary career in medicine. It also introduces the actor comedian Roy Hudd as the leader of a raucous Music Hall troupe, who dip in and out of the action with songs in the style of the times.

3 Minute Wonders: The World According to... (2008)

THe World According to... A series of short animated films in which young children explain aspects of the modern world:

  • Electricity according to John: Ten-year-old John describes his theories behind electricity.
  • Robotics According to Louis: Nine-year-old Louis tells us about the future of the robot world.
  • Space Travel According to John: The concept of space travel through the eyes of a ten-year-old.
  • Recycling according to Alexander: Alexander discusses recycling in his own imaginative fashion.

The Final Fix? (2007)

Coming Clean (2006)

A commissioned film for the Charity, "The Third Step", exploring the use of an extraordinary drug free, detoxification for addicts, "the NET" (Neuroelectric Therapy), developed by Dr Meg Patterson. Past successes include: Eric Clapton, Keith Richards and Pete Townsend. NET is currently being applied to inner city addicts in the UK.

Man Dancin’ (2003)

A low budget, high drama feature film set in Glasgow. "Jesus of Montreal" meets "The Full Monty" and "Godfather II". Funny, edgy, emotional gangster movie with an unusual ray of hope at the end. (114 mins)

The Journey (1997/98)

A 1A commission of 7 x 15 min globe-trotting documentary series on the life and times of veteran broadcaster and author Peter France. Easter transmission on BBC1.

Breathless (1997/98)

Another 1A Productions commission from the BBC’s award-winning QED series, this 40 minute documentary on a revolutionary new cure for asthma topped the series ratings and became the most watched programme on the night of transmission.


Ain’t Misbehavin’ (1996)

A direct commission from ITV Network Centre, Ain’t Misbehaving was devised, created and directed by Norman Stone. A comedy drama set in World War II, starring Robson Green and Jerome Flynn, supported by Julia Sawalha, Warren Mitchell, James Cosmo and Jane Lapotaire. It was nominated for Best Comedy Drama in the ITV 1997 Comedy Awards. ITV/Anglia/Clapp Trap Productions.

Joking Apart (1996)

Second Longform video for BMG/RCA. Voted best music programme of the year by Video Home Entertainment.


Promotional Videos (1995)

Created and directed videos for Robson and Jerome’s hot singles, "Unchained Melody" and "Up On The Roof". Also directed their Longform video "So Far, So Good" which topped the charts with sales of over half a million copies. A total of twelve weeks, with videos, at number one in the British charts in a single year.
