Sally Magnusson
Sally Magnusson is a journalist, broadcaster and writer, who presents a range of programmes for the BBC from current affairs and politics to news and religion. These include the popular BBC1 daytime current affairs strands Britain’s Streets and Missing, the religious series Songs of Praise and the early evening Scottish news programme Reporting Scotland. Her hard-hitting series, Britain’s Secret Shame won a Royal Television Society award as best daytime series in 2004. She has also presented The Daily Politics and Panorama.
She was born in Glasgow, studied English at Edinburgh University and began her journalistic career on The Scotsman, before joining the BBC’s news and current affairs department in London, where she presented Breakfast News for many years. Based now in Glasgow, she is the author of several of books, including Dreaming of Iceland, Glorious Things, Family Life and The Flying Scotsman.
Sally is company secretary of 1A Films Ltd., a subsidary of 1A Productions. She provides invaluable experience and insight into a number of 1A projects.
